  • Abstract:
  • In this paper, a circuit topology is analyzed, which is used as a three-level open-end winding IM drive. This topology uses dual inverters with only one dc voltage source at the primary side of the converter. The second bridge converter is connected to a floating capacitor bank. The aim of this topology is to eliminate the requirement for a bulky isolation transformer while achieving multilevel output voltage waveforms. The voltage across the floating capacitor bank is controlled using the redundant switching vectors along with a modified space vector modulation (SVM) scheme, which avoids unwanted voltage levels.
