  • Abstract:
  • An ion conducting polymer electrolyte based on poly (vinyl alcohol) PVA complexed with Malonic acid is prepared using solution cast technique. The structural properties of PVA and complexed films are studied using XRD and FTIR techniques. The physical properties of these polymer complexed films are analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results of XRD reveal that with the increase of Malonic acid concentration, the amorphous nature of PVA Polymer matrix increases. FTIR spectra studies for pure and complexed films reveal the vibrational changes that occur due to the effect of dopant in the polymer. The variation of film surface morphology is confirmed by SEM technique. The dc conductivity of these composite films has been studied. The dc conductivity of PVA is found to be increasing as the concentration of Malonic acid increases
