  • Forest is the plant community, predominantly of trees or other woody vegetation occupying an extensive area of land. Forest is one of the most important natural resources on this earth, covering the earth like a green blanket. Forests produced not only innumerable material goods but also provide different environmental services which are essential for most of the living being. Forest covered about one third of earth’s land surface of which about 50% is occupied by Tropical Forest. So far India is concerned of the total geographical area 22.74% is forest.
