  • Abstract:
  • Ordinary Portland cement (OPC) is generally accepted as a functional bond in the manufacture of concrete and cementitious mortars. Three MGP pastes were smooth (no fiber) and the remaining three were made by mixing EWP plastic beads. The MGP compound is made by differentiating sand, MK and sodium silicate content in NaOH proportions, resulting in different molar ratios. The specimens were subjected to room temperature and high temperatures of 80°C and 120°C for 6 h before the pullout test. The mortar reinforced with common MGP and EWP was cured at room temperature. Test results show that MGP mortars are a better alternative to cement-based repair mortars. The bond strength between the MGP repair material and the concrete surface was significantly reduced at 80 °C.
